Reservations: Reservations by telephone are taken between 9am and 8pm Eastern Time and online anytime by clicking on the “Accommodations” link.

Occupancy: All rooms allow for 2 guests only at the THM. For Rooms 8 and 14, which have a pullout sofa, a $35 charge per night for one additional guest may be added. These rooms are not to exceed 3 people in total.

Check-ins: Check-in time is 3pm until 8 pm. Checkout time is 11am. No early or late check-ins please unless you have made special arrangements directly with the hotel. We are not honoring early arrivals or late check outs at this time.

Deposit & Payment Options: Because of our size and market, cancellations affect us significantly. A deposit of half of the total charge is due at the time of booking. If booking a one- night stay, we require the full amount. Payment may be made with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. Please remember to add/use your current billing address in your credit card information. The system is unable to approve reservations if the information is incorrect.

* We accept cash for balance payment only upon arrival if a valid credit card is used to make the deposit. We do not accept personal checks. We will send confirmation of your reservation upon receipt of your deposit within 24 hours.

Cancellations: We require 14 days notice prior to your confirmed arrival date for any cancellations or change of dates. Outside the 14 day time period you will be charged 10% or $30.00 (the greater amount) as a cancellation fee. If any full or partial cancellation or change of dates is made within the 14 day window, regardless of the reason, you will be charged the full amount of your reservation. Additionally, we will not accept cancellations or process refunds during the last full week of October, which includes both weekends. We may, however, accommodate date changes, based on availability and related price changes for a $30.00 fee. Exact dates must be confirmed and reserved the day when making a change. * Please see and all Expedia owned sites for individual cancellation policies.

Children/Young Adults: Unfortunately, we only register children 12 years and older. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 18 staying on premises. Please call the hotel prior to booking so we may best meet your family’s travel needs.

Guest Responsibility: We understand accidents do happen, but guests will be financially responsible for damage due to gross negligence in  regard to room and property. This includes, but is not limited to, damaged linens.

Smoking: As per Massachusetts State Law, The Hotel Marblehead is a smoke-free establishment. There will be a $250 cleaning fee for anyone who smokes inside the property, out the window, etc. This includes e-cigarettes, vaping devices and marijuana. We allow smoking in our outdoor garden area only.

Service Animals vs. Emotional Support Animals: According to the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), “A service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability.” Businesses and other entities do have rights that protect them if a particular service animal behaves in a way that poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others or is not under the control of the handler. The Hotel Marblehead accommodates official Service Animals as outlined under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Hotel Marblehead does not participate in the hosting of Emotional Support Animals. ADA Accessible Room: We have one ADA compliant room on the first floor equipped with a roll-in shower, a shower bench and rails, and wheelchair accessible doors, closets and sinks, and ADA compliant clear space throughout the guestroom and patio. Please inquire for more details and specific needs. 

Weddings Stays and Large Groups: The Hotel Marblehead is a unique and intimate setting and we may or may not suit your needs in regard to event gatherings. Please contact the Manager via email ( to discuss the details of your event/group visit. Any functions/gatherings which have not been approved in advance by the hotel will be billed directly to your credit card(s) on file.

 *Please also note that due to the intimate nature of our hotel and our preference for a mixed group, we are unable to accept room blocks of any kind for the full rental of the hotel. We do accept room reservations with a 50% deposit and a maximum of 5 rooms. We reserve the additional rooms for our returning guests. These event related reserved rooms are non cancellable/refundable.
